Reminiscent of being welcomed into a good friend’s home, Chez Boët’s stamp on the Naples restaurant scene infuses hospitality with the gracious personalities of co-owners Lisa and Philippe Boët. Because every country and culture has its defining rustic stew for serving at family dinners, Foodie Camp takes on tagine, named for the clay pot in which it's prepared.
Tagine is a slow-cooked hearty stew fusing the savory flavors of France with exotic North African spices. Lisa reveals, “It’s ideal for dinner parties because it’s easy to increase the yield without too much guesswork for surprise last minute guests. While boasting lots of ingredients for luscious layers of flavor, it’s not so much work. Nodding to the three versions served at the restaurant, we’ll demonstrate how easy it is to modify the recipe with various protein choices. It’s something we love serving when entertaining guests at home.”
Lisa’s culinary journey began in the kitchens of her childhood alongside her Italian grandmother and mother, her earliest influences before encountering Julia Child. This Illinois native became an accomplished amateur chef before moving to France to study at the Sorbonne. She spent long weekends in the French countryside as an apprentice chef, preparing traditional, home-cooked meals with ingredients straight from family farms and markets in small villages. She is passionate about preparing meals from generations-old family recipes using fresh, local ingredients, reflected by the restaurant’s “Green” certification.
